Pasco County Jail

Leisure Time

Interview with Kyle

JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time?
Kyle: Television, card games, book reading, chess.

JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce?
Kyle: I personally had no problem with competition.

JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail?
Kyle: No I exercised regularly. As far as exercising I did push ups, sit ups as well as using a water bag to lift weights. A water bag is made from a plastic garbage bag filled with water wrapped with a t-shirt. It is heavy and allows us to bulk up. It is also considered contraband.

JM: How often did you get to go outside?
Kyle: 4 times a week.

JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held?
Kyle: There was no church but if you signed up a pastor would come for a one on one visit with you. Also I was given a bible by one of the pastors.

there is church on sunday mornings there is also bible study on monday nights. Jail isn't hard it is just boring I did 10 months there and with budget cuts it is starting to get bad they just issued each inmate a red spork and if you loose it you eat with your fingers. they are short on uniforms since they switched clothing and took away shorts and shirts so you only get one uniform and on have laundry exchange 3 days a week and you have to line up in underwear and bra or just boxers so if you are self conciese rethink jail. People have lice and shakedowns are done regularly for contraband and since the tornadoe when it rains foxtrot and echo are evacuated to delta for yourown saffety. Medical sucks. Co's are cool if your not a prick to them
